We offer onsite clinical pathology which means that fluids, tissue samples and blood can be tested and evaluated on-site. This leads to quicker diagnosis of diseases and the ability to start treatment sooner. Tests can include blood counts, urinalysis, blood clotting times, blood chemistry, biopsies, faecal tests, infectious disease testing and cultures and more. Having a pathology lab allows for rapid and accurate diagnosis as vets can perform the tests on-site without waiting for results to come back from an external lab. Only very specialised tests may be outsourced. Specialised testing may take up to 24 hours to get results returned. Biopsies can take up to 14 days for results. Your vet will advise you on when the results will be available. Once they have a confirmed diagnosis, they can then discuss the treatment protocol for your pet with you.
