Microchipping can assist in finding your pet should they go missing. The chip is about the size of a single grain of rice. You vet would imbed the chip under the skin, between the shoulder blades of your pet. You would register your details and link it to the unique code on the chip. The details are saved on a national database. This helps you prove ownership in a dispute as well as assists in vets / animal protection services in finding the owners of missing animals. In some states microchipping has been made compulsory.

A microchip can be inserted during a normal consultation. Contact us to make an appointment to chip your pet. If you find a pet, you can bring it in to our practice so it can be scanned and if chipped, reunited with their owners.
