Winston Hills
Gordon Heslop took over Winston Hills Veterinary Hospital in January 1988. At that time it was a quiet branch of another veterinary hospital. The hospital has grown significantly since that time, and numerous improvements have been made to upgrade the premises to an A Class hospital. We pride ourselves on providing a very special caring service to our clients and their pets. Many of our clients have been coming to us since we opened, and we are delighted that many of their children now also bring their pets to us!
We are very keen to support the community that supports us, and sponsor many local schools and sports. We have been major sponsors of Winston Hills Little Athletics for many years, we care for stray pets and injured wild life pro bono, and take on a large number of school work experience students every year – some of whom have gone on to be vets and vet nurses.
We recognize that the bond that our clients have with their pets is an important part of their homes, and will always aim to make that relationship as happy as possible for owner and pet alike. We aim to prevent disease and ill health wherever possible, and to that end encourage regular vaccination and other health measures. We have a variety of caring vets on staff and so can offer in-depth treatments for your pets including surgery, medicine, Xrays, pathology and even acupuncture and homeopathy.
In our individual profiles you can see what we can offer you and your pets. A grooming service is available, and we make our back yard available to specialist animal behaviourists for Puppy Preschool.
Glenhaven
Glenhaven Veterinary Hospital was established in September 1992 as a branch of Winston Hills Veterinary Hospital. At that time it was located in Glenhaven Shopping Centre and was set up to look after the growing pet population in the area. In 1996 the surgery had outgrown the space available so we purchased new premises and relocated to its current address, 442 Old Northern Road, Glenhaven, offering a better and larger facility.
